Rick's Florida Trip

Rick went on a business trip down to Florida a week or so ago...and had a little bad luck while he was there...first of all he was put in a hotel where there were 200 Cuban 15 and 16 year olds staying for some trip as well. Don't worry, they were up till 5 am every morning running up and down the halls screaming and partying...and they didn't speak any English. Then he went to dinner and came back to find that his rental car had been towed...he had to walk several miles in his dress shoes, injuring his foot before he got to the tow yard. They charged him a ridiculous amount to get the car back, plus a parking ticket on top of that. On his way back to the airport to finally come home he left his cell phone in the car and almost missed his flight on the pay phone trying to get it back...which he didn't...it wasn't mailed to us until a week later. Gotta love fun trips like that, right?

Dyls Michigan Party

Okay, we had a party a few weeks ago for Dyl's bday at our clubhouse. It was pretty fun. He got some really fun gifts and ate some more cake and swam and had a great time. Here's a pic of his friend Max, innocently hanging onto the coffee table while Dyl was doing laps around and around. Every time Dyl got to where Max was on the table he just climbed around him and kept going! It was so funny...after a while Max did NOT appreciate it but Dyl just cruised around anyway. He would hold his shoulders, then his head, then his arm, etc...it was pretty funny.
One of Dyls gifts was this flask...it was so funny, a guy in our ward gave him this with a can of liquid baby formula, he thought it would be funny for Dyl to drink during sacrament meeting. Dyl immediately took it and put it up to his mouth like he was boosin'...good times.

The Butterfly House

Rick, Dyl and I went for a fun filled day at Mackinac (Mackinaw) Island. We went to the butterfly house while we were there and Dylan managed to attract a lot of very friendly attention! Here's a few shots of the little guy with a couple butterflies that seemed to just love sitting on his head. they sat there for about a half hour, no matter how much he shook his head!
Everyone in the butterfly house kept asking if they could take pictures of Dyl...he eventually drew quite a crowd. This little old man that worked there came up to me as we were leaving and asked if I would email the pictures to them so they could put them up. After the butterfly house we went riding on a tandem bike that had a baby seat strapped onto the back. We ate homemade ice cream and went for nature walks and rode a ferry back and forth...it was such a fun day!

Bring on the Fireworks!

Happy 4th of July!! We were invited to a party by someone Rick works with, it was fun even though we didn't know anyone there! Not one person! They have this amazing house right on the lake, their backyard just drops down right onto the shoreline where they have a few jet skii's and sea doos and stuff, which we rode, and a pontoon boat. on their second level they had an amazing hot tub, the whole place was just way way nice. Here's Dyl and I, even tho I have lovely "beach hair" as I call it, (Rick and I tipped on the sea doo)...thought I'd finally include a pic with Mom.

Dylan loved the fireworks! Especially if we covered his ears before the really big ones were set off. It was really cool because we rode out on the pontoon boat, and their neighbor brought theirs and we loaded both up and headed down the lake to a spot where there were hundreds of boats there, it was about 10 pm so it was pitch black but all the boats had little white lights on the back end so it looked really cool but anyways...there was a huge fireworks show and they were bursting over our heads..we loved it!

Dow Gardens

Rick and I went with some friends to check out the Dow Gardens. It was so beautiful! We visited the kids garden area which was so cute! They had tons of little vegetable gardens and scarecrows and bridges over coy ponds and little tree houses and animal statues, etc. Dyl loved the grapevine gate that made a little tunnel surrounded by leaves and flowers...so pretty!

Later he decided to head across the bridge to check out the rest of the garden. He's crusin around more and more lately, building up his confidence...we don't think it will be much longer until he's walking on his own. Such a fun day!

Twinners!

Okay, i found this shirt and shorts that totally matched some that Rick had so I decided to dress the boys like twins! Rick actually thought it was pretty cool and it was funny how much we were able to get them to match. Rick even busted out the hair gel and started molding dyl's hair to look like his.

The Stud

Okay, the other day Dyl was looking out the balcony without a shirt on...and he made his tummy into the biggest pot belly and started drooling on it and rubbing it and it just looked so funny/gross...it just makes it that much better that he's in sweats too....gotta love it! my little hunky man!
