Father Son Campout

The weekend after mothers day Rick got to take Dyl on his very first Father/Son outing. They had so much fun! I managed to find a spider man fishing pole on clearance at Target the day before they left so...Dyl was in heaven.

They got to do tons of cool guy stuff while they were there, like:

Fishing (he doesn't care that there's no hook attached, he just likes casting it out and reeling it in) Hangin' with buds (Dyl was Mr. Popular with his fishing pole, Rick said he was a very good sharer --is that a word?)

Feed the ducks (or throw dirt at them...not too sure what exactly is going on in this picture)
Touch yucky bugs and other nasty things
Throw rocks in the water (apparently the bigger the better)
Make silly faces
Read books
And of course, sleep in a tent. All in all an awesome trip.P.S. I KNOW there are no pics of the FATHER in any of these..what the heck? I said, "Now honey, make sure you get lots of pics so I can scrapbook it for you." I guess it never occurred to him that he should ask one of the twenty guys from our ward there to take a shot of him with his kid. Oh well, you'll just have to take my word for it that he was there.

Hittin' the Beach

All right...it's been a long time since I posted, but my dumb computer crashes about once a week now so...it makes it hard. I still don't have my photo shop uploaded this time so none of these are edited but I don't really care I just want to get something up here so I can stop feeling guilty about the piles of pictures that are starting to get ridiculously old. This is actually a more recent set of pictures but they're all I really had access to considering this is Ricks laptop and none of my stuff is on here. We had to do an emergency download so I wouldn't lose my files so...this is whatcha get!

Brayds decided to surprise us all a couple weekends ago and just showed up with her hubby for some fun in the sun. So...we went to the beach of course and had a blast!

Bri, Jeff and Brayds
My little ruffle bum having a blast! She loved the beach, except that we wouldn't let her crawl in the sand, that made her a little mad.
So Braydee decided to take care of that and let Mar "walk" around a bit. She's so different from Dyl...grass, sand, cold water, hot water, etc. it doesn't phase her a bit, she loves it all. Dylan always had to get used to each new texture or temperature before he would get into it. Not Marley!
Dyl was in a more...reflective mood. I don't know what the heck was up with him that day, he just kinda was in his own little world.
He definitely wasn't in the mood to get his picture taken...little punk. He frowned like this in every shot.
Jeff learned how to skim board, he got pretty good near the end of the day. Pretty burned too, he and Braydee got roasted...silly Utah-in's
For some reason I didn't get any action shots of Jeff or Brayd's so Bri's gonna get all the credit for learnin' him how
Meanwhile Marley just "hung around"...lame I know but I'm not really into the typing part right now for some reason, sorry!
Hmm...where's Dylan? Oh there he is! Like, five lifeguard towers away! My son is NOT a fan of the water at the beach, and the sand can only keep you busy for so long so he loves to chase the birds. Unfortunately the birds don't understand the concept of STAY BY MOM so...he ended up down the beach a ways...while I was playing with my camera...since he wasn't allowing himself to be photographed I wasn't watching him close enough. So here is proof on the internet of what a great mother I am. (That black mark is Bri's head...this is where she caught up to him and tackled him to the ground)
Meanwhile Marley was having the time of her life on the blanket. Eventually they made it back to us...I love these next two pics
Proof that Nana was there...and that I wasn't the only irresponsible adult. (Rick was there and Papa too but they were working in the car...LAME!)

Their spoils from the million mile trek across the beach...Bri found a dead crab
And Dylan found a shell...I was trying to blur their faces and keep the object in focus...I slightly did it on Bri and failed miserably on Dyl. P.S. I figured out why later - thanks King for the photo lessons! Jeff reminding us which way to the beach...wow Brayds, look at those guns!
All in all a great day, come back soon, we miss you guys!
