Bay City Pig Gig!

Where else can you find a Pig Gig? Gotta love Michigan! We went to Bay City last weekend, about 15 min. from our house for the annual Pig Gig...it's a fund raiser for cancer as well. It was also pretty much a huge beer fest. It was still a lot of fun though because they had a live band "Gin Blossoms" I had never heard of them, but I knew some of their songs like "Hey Jealousy" old school but tons of fun. They had different BBQ tents to get pulled pork sandwiches, ribs, etc. and lemonade stands and lots of fun things for the kids. Dylan loved listening to and dancing to the band music, here he is watching them from the back of the crazy crowd. We put him down on the ground and he kept clapping and cheering and bouncing his legs in time to the music, it was so cute. We're happy he loves music so much. After the music we hit up the "kid" area where Rick and several others of the guys we were with seriously each paid 5 stinkin dollars to race in the bounce house maze race thing. They were the only ones above the age of 12 in line and got so into it that they were seriously going to keep paying the ridiculous fee until all four of them had battled each other for the overall champ. Fortunately for all us ladies standing by guarding the wallets the guy informed them that the 5 bucks gave them 3 trips through...so...they got to have their competition. I know this pic is blurry but you had to see how into it they got, Im sure the guy really appreciated them jumping off the slide thing and crashing down at the bottom. Rick would want you to know that although it looks like he was behind in this pic he actually waited at the top for him to catch up for the pic.

They had this really cute petting area where Dylan just LOVED his first real encounter with animals. He was laughing SO loud and SO hysterically, I was sad to not get it on film because we could have made money off Americas funniest home videos or something. He loved it every time they came up to him and since they thought he had food he was usually surrounded by them and they would stick their heads thru the bars and he'd have 4-5 of them smelling him at once. He was in heaven.

Tawas State Park (beach)

Dyl and I had such a fun day at the beach with some of the ladies from my ward. It was actually Lake Huron, so now I can say I've officially been in one of the great lakes!I bought him some really cool sand trucks from the dollar bin at target which he LOVED. He loved swimming in the water, every time I took him out and stood with him on my hip he threw his arms out in front of him and lunged towards the water, practically knocking me over with his chubby momentum. It was so funny when the kids came and swam next to him because he would try so hard to "show off" to get them to look at him, splashing and kicking hard while babbling sooo loud at the top of his lungs. It was so funny. He made a lot of friends that day.
Here's three of my 4-5 year olds I teach at church...Left to right there's Autumn, Emily and Katie. Last week my team teacher couldn't make it and I had to teach all eleven of them by myself! At the beach Katie (far right) was walking by the water with a cracker in her hand when a crazy seagull swooped down for her food and bit her finger! It started bleeding and she freaked out, poor thing kept walking around telling everyone that " a EAGLE bit her finger!" Gotta love that age!

I thought we'd close with Dyl's infamous MEAN FACE...he still loves to make it while breathing in and out of his nose as loud as he can. Total tough guy.

Plymouth Pool

Here we are at Plymouth Pool...Dyl really loves the water. This is a public pool about 3 min. from our house, it costs 3 bucks to go but we had a good time. Dylan just loves seeing

all the kids there, he always thinks they're all his friends. He gets so excited if they run past him or scream loudly...he thinks they're playing with him or something so he starts laughing hysterically...
its really funny to watch.

Walk For Life

Last weekend we went to a Walk for Life fundraiser for various Cancers. It was a lot of fun, an all day thing set up around a track where different groups put up different booths to play games or sell food (kinda like, fair/carnival style) where 100% of the proceeds go to whichever cancer that booth was sponsoring. Every group had to have a least one walker at all times and it went through the night, 9 am to 9 am the next morning...we took the day shift and decided to get our faces painted...more like Rick and I held Dyl down while the poor girl tried to paint his face...how many parents FORCE their child to get their face painted? We do. (ps i know i look sweaty (it was freaking 96 or something) and greasy but i thought dyl looked cute so, i decided to sacrifice looking nasty for his sake.
